Abstract

7309. Taylor, G. C. March 26. Tread bands, projections, and surfaces.-Relates to tyre treads comprising material in which fabric on edge is embedded in rubber, such as are described in Specifications 14,760/04 and 12,319/08, and consists in forming the treads of two or more thin lavers of the material, Figs. 3 and 6, having the strips of fabric on edge obliquely disposed and oppositely arranged in the different layers. The treads may also comprise thin layers of material in which unwoven threads, embedded in rubber, present only their ends on the surfaces of the material, the rows of threads being arranged obliquely as above. The layers are preferably of different widths, and they are preferably pressed together to form the tread in the manner described in Specification 26,304/08, [Class 87, Moulding &c.), and pressed on the tyre body in the manner described in Specification 20,027/08, [Class 87, Moulding, &c.].
