Fire-tubes, arrangements of superheating- tubes in.-In a superheater consisting of U- tubes placed in the smoke-tubes of a boiler, two or more continuous U-loops d, e are arranged in a tube in such a way that the loop d containing the coolest steam is surrounded by the coolest furnace gases, and the loop e containing the hottest steam is surrounded by the hottest furnace gases. The steam on its way between the U-loops d, e may pass through a number of loops h, Fig. 6, arranged in a second tube. The separate loops formed in a continuous tube may be placed in different tubes. The return tube between the loop e and the superheatedsteam header is insulated from the surrounding gases by a tube f.
