Abstract

3067. Riegels, O. L. Feb. 8. Two-stroke-cycle engines ; cylinders, pipes for,- In an engine of the type in which the crank chamber forms the compression pump, the air is carburetted in the pipe between the crank chamber and the cylinder. The pipe 2 contains a non- return valve 11, in the seat of which, in the form shown, is situated the fuel nozzle 7. The vaporizer, which may be exhaust-jacketed, may be of any convenient construction. The pipe 2 contains a pit 10 covered by a sloping wire-gauze 14 to prevent fuel from being drawn into the crank chamber. Aframe 9, containing a number of wiregauze sheets, is placed in the admission pipe to prevent back-firing. When the mixing-valve 11 is not used, a non-return valve is placed between the crank chamber and the vaporizer, which is supplied by a float feed chamber and nozzle.
