Abstract

1785. Bohle, E. W. Jan. 25, Brake mechanism.-A clip for mounting brake connexions on cycles and the like, particularly intended for the bell-crank lever E used for the rear brake, comprises a band part A for encircling the frame tube, with a boss B through which passes a shouldered screw-pin C, on which is threaded a socket-piece D. The shouldereddown part of the pin projects through the socket and receives a flanged sleeve nut d<2>, which serves for the bearing of the lever E. The diameter of the sleeve part of the nut is slightly less than the internal diameter of the plain socket, so that it passes more or less into the socket and can be adjusted to give the requisite pressure on the lever. The parts are locked in place by a nut d<3>. In a modification, the pin passes into the boss B from the outside, and has a plain portion which passes more or less into the socket and takes the place of the sleeve nut. A friction block b<1> is used to give a more efficient grip against the frame tube.
