Centrifugal pumps.-The impeller b of a centrifugal pump comprises blades c radiating from the boss but not extending to the periphery, and a peripheral ring of thin blades d. The impeller discharges into an expaniing vortex chamber e, from which the fluid passes between guide-blades f to the discharge annulus g. According to the Provisional Specification, the blades d may be inserted in saw cuts in the impeller.
