22,054. Flynn, J. Oct. 19. Flaying-knives.- The adjustable metal guard C of a flaying-knife, having an edge formed by sharpening both sides of the blade A, is provided with a bolt c<2> and an aperture, which engage with a slot a<3> and a bolt a<1> respectively in the blade. The guard has no projections on its upper surface ; it is rigidly held along the whole length of the blade by milled nuts a<2>, c<1>, and may be removed sufficiently clear of the blade to allow steeling.
