Abstract

22,019. Beamish, De C. Oct. 17. Order and alarm apparatus.-In indicating- apparatus in which a heavy mass rotates about an axis, the mass is held in the desired position by an arm of magnetic material attached to the mass and locking in a projection on the armature of an energized electro-magnet. The device is described as applied to the apparatus disclosed in Specification No. 25,740, A.D. 1907, in which the elliptical disk 1 of magnetic material rotates until the extremity of the major axis is opposite the electromagnet 2 which has been energized. In the present invention the arms 6 of magnetic material are normally held from engagement with the electromagnets 2 by the springs 8, and are arranged with their extremities at the ends of the major axis. When one of the electro-magnets 2 is energized, the disk 1 rotates to bring the major axis opposite the energized magnet, which also attracts the arm 6, the projection 10 of which engages with the armature of the electro-magnet.
