21,924. Howard, H. F., and Howard, E. Oct. 16. Bottling.-Relates to bottling-machines of the type in which a snifting-chamber is in intermittent communication with the filling-head. The apparatus is illustrated as applied to part of a Macdonnell machine. According to the present invention, a valve f, placed between the snifting- chamber a and the filling-head d, is adapted to close automatically at or about the time when filling is complete, that is, when the pressure in the pipe between the valve and the bottle is less than the pressure in the snifting-chamber. A valve g operated through a lever k by a cam l on a moving part of the machine, for example the corking- plunger, is adapted to relieve pressure in the chamber a at the end of the filling operation.
