Abstract

19,132. Imray, O., [Rheinische Metallwaaren-und Maschinenfabrik]. Sept. 11. Field carriages.-Relates to guncarriages of the kind in which the recoil of the gun is diverted as described in Specification No. 18,737, A.D. 1908. According to the invention, the cradle d and cradle-carrier c are normally connected to the elevating-arc f by a spring catch k, but they are disconnected therefrom during the recoil, which is initially in the axial direction, by a rail r on the barrel e which rocks a lever o, withdraws the catch k, and holds the lever in the unlocked position. The gun is retained in the position of maximum deflexion from the firing position by a spring pawl z, on the carrier c, which engages with notches y on the are f, and is run-out and loaded in this position. The pawl z is released automatically when the breech is closed by a projection on the breech block, which strikes an arm 11 and thereby rocks a shaft 6 and lifts the pawl z through an arm 7 and link 5. The lever o may be operated by hand.
