Pulleys.-Means for securing the spokes of pulleys in which the spoke ends form the centre of the pulleys comprise a circular or polygonal disk c, Fig. 2, of wood or metal which engages mortices b, Fig. 3, in the spoke ends a. The spoke ends are glued to the disk and to one another and may be further secured by transverse metal pins. More than one disk may be used corresponding to more than one set of mortices. In a modification, the disk is provided with thin ribs k, Fig. 5, of uniform thickness and converging towards the centre of the pulley. The spoke ends are secured in the pockets thus formed on each side of the disk by two rings sunk into the face of the pulley and connected by transverse rivets.
