Abstract
20,154. Theyskens, A. Sept. 15. Pulleys.-Relates to split-wood pulleys of the kind described in Specification No. 3157, A.D. 1900. The rim consists of a ring a, built up in segments, an inner rim b of wood, with the grain extending crossways, glued and nailed or screwed to the ring a, and an outer rim c of wood with the grain extending circumferentially, or of cardboard &c. glued over the rim b. The two halves of the rim are secured together by fishplates g at each side of the ring a; or the ring may be slotted to receive a central plate. The arms e are tenoned into the ring a, and two or more rings and series of arms may be used in each pulley. The two halves of the boss are each fitted with a dowel pin to enter a hole in the other. When the boas is required to be used as a separate pulley, Fig. 9, the halves are fixed together by right and left hand screws and nuts.
