The tar passes from the boiler E through a tap H to an horizontal pipe I to which, at one or both ends and at the centre if necessary, is connected a flexible tubing F leading to a spraying-pipe A. attached by screws to the front of the stock of a hand broom B. The tube F is connected to the pipe I, A by ball joints G. Screw plugs are provided at the ends of the pipes I, A for cleansing purposes.
