Abstract
13,675. Noad, J., and Townsend, E. J. June 27. Distilling oils.-Oil is converted into volatile spirit by a process in which the oil in liquid form and water in liquid form are vaporized and decomposed in the presence of each other and of highly-heated iron in the form of scrap or the like, with the exclusion of air. The resulting vapours are condensed and rectified. The iron acts as a catalytic agent.
