Fig. 1, adapted to screw down on the lamp pins d, is enlarged internally at the lower end, so as to cover the pins, and has one or more holes or slots in its lower edge to receive projections h, Fig. 4, on a key having a circular part k and an inclined handle m, to permit the key to be operated between the lamp bulb and the shade on the holder. The key may otherwise consist of a loop of wire to surround the lamp bulb, its ends engaging the holes in the locking ring.
