Abstract

25,897. Copland, C. D. Nov. 8. H o l d e r s with locking-devices. A holder, Fig. 2, is provided at one side with a tongue a<3> normally projecting s l i g h t l y outwards, and a recess a<4> to take one lamp pin, a bayonet-slot, preferably having its horizontal limb extending to the left, being formed on the other side. The horizontal limb of the bayonet-slot may be longer than usual. To lock the lamp, the tongue is depressed by screwing on a shade ring, having recesses to pass over the pins, the ring b being placed over the lamp cap before inserting it. In a modification, each side of the holder may be slit and provided with a bayonet-opening, Fig. 7, the lower part of the holder being tapered to enable the slits to be closed by the shade ring. In other forms, the tongue may be hinged, horizontal, or free at the upper end, Fig. 8, and the shade ring may be in two pieces.
