Moulding. - A moulding-machine is made portable by supporting it together with its operating-means, such as an electro-motor, on a framing which is carried by a truck running on overhead rails. Fig. 1 shows one arrangement in which a truck b carries the motor c, which drives through worm gearing a cranked shaft f for ramming the sand. The top plate g is hinged at the back to permit of the removal of the flask k. The truck may be arranged like an overhead crane, to travel in two directions at rightangles, or the apparatus may be combined with a travelling crane.
