Abstract

22,672. Woods, M., and Gilbert, T. J. Jan. 3. Railway rails; surfacing in situ.-A rail-machine has a series of rollers adapted to form an extended support for the grinding-tools, and thus prevent the copying of undulations on the rail. The rollers j are carried by plates g, h mounted on a pin f projecting from a carriage a. The rollers are adjusted laterally on the pin by a screw r, which is connected to a bridgepiece s, and engages the pin. Side rollers l, m<1> may be provided. The invention is described with reference to the rail-grinding machine described in Specifications 126/10 and 22,669/10.
