Dust, separating from air.-Dust or other solid or liquid impurities are separated from air or gases in a container 1, the downwardlydirected opening of the inlet pipe 3 being arranged directly under the outlet 4, or approximately so, and being surrounded by a circular plate 5 extending nearly to the inside wall. The gas is drawn into the container, not forced therein. and in expanding is caused to spread out into a thin evenly-distributed film, whereby the impurities are deposited in the quiescent conical space below, access to which is had by means of a door 2. The plate 5 may be corrugated, and a straight pipe 3 entering in an inclined direction may be employed. Two or more separators may be employed in series.
