Abstract

11,639. Oswald, T. H., and Oswald, T. H. May 17. Treating with liquids in apparatus having wetted perforated partitions.-The waste water from the scrubbers used in producer-gas plant is rendered inoffensive by aÙrating with the blast on its way to the producer. The water is distributed by a perforated pipe 10,over the uppermost of a series of perforated plates 5 contained within a casing 1. Air for the blast is supplied through a pipe 8 and withdrawn, charged with sulphuretted hydrogen &c., through a pipe 4. The purified water is discharged through an outlet 9. The pipe 10 may be fitted with lateral branches.
