Respirators.-In regenerative breathing-apparatus, a combined saliva trap and air-cooler is connected to the exhaling-pipe and the breathing-bag, the absorbent of carbon dioxide being placed in the bag. The trap and cooler comprises an inlet f to a chamber b with tubes e dependent from a diaphragm d, an outlet pipe g to the breathing-bag, and a perforated jacket a containing lint or other absorbent saturated with water, with or without a more volatile liquid, by the evaporation of which the cooling-effect is obtained.
