Abstract
28,586. Davis, R. H., and Hill, L. E. Dec. 14. Respirators.-The pressure gauge h for the oxygen cylinders e of respiration apparatus is attached by a flexible tube m, and is so disposed as to be readily seen by the operator. An emergency valve j is also provided, preferably at the opposite end of the cylinders to that at which the usual reducing-valvef is attached, and is used should the normal passage become choked. A branch pipe k makes the necessary connexion with the supply pipe g. Alternatively, the emergency valve is disposed at i<1> in conjunction with the valve f, as shown in Fig. 4, in which the normal passage l of the oxygen is through the spindle k<o>, or it may be through the fitting, of the emergency valve ; but on operating the handle k<1>, the gas is admitted by way of the channel u ; or a by-pass may be arranged directly upon the reducing - valve. The invention is specially applicable to apparatus of the kind described in Specification No. 13,604, A.D. 1905.
