Abstract
1446. Sandvoss, H. Jan. 21. Gauges; water levels, indicating.-A pressure gauge, also applicable for ascertaining the level of liquid in a tank, comprises a diaphragm b, the underside of which is in communication with the water or other fluid, while the upper side is attached to a rod d controlled by a spring d<1>, The upper end of the rod d is connected by a link e to an arm j on a shaft f, which also carries a contactarm l as well as a toothed segment g gearing with a toothed wheel on the axis i of the pointer. The arm l works between two contact-plugs n, o, by which an electric circuit is completed and a bell is rung at a minimum or maximum pressure or level. The tube a between the dial and the diaphragm is provided with a foot in which the diaphragm is mounted, projecting studs keeping the diaphragm off the bottom of the tank.
