24,411. Huhn, G. Nov. 5. Lubricating stuffing-boxes. Hollow metal packing-rings filled with graphite or other lubricant are made of a section which is not deformed during compression, thus lessening the tendency to leakage of the lubricant at the ends of the rings. In one form, Fig. 1, the rings are of rectangular section with bevelled edges. The rings are in halves, the ends being closed by plugs a, h. The hollow rings may be of triangular section, as shown in Fig. 3.
