Abstract
22,932. Webster, R. W., Chew, L., and West & Co, H. J. Oct. 17. Aerating liquids.-In aerating liquids, in the preparation of mineral waters &c., the liquid is saturated with gas under pressure and is subsequently cooled and bottled without reducing the pressure. The liquid to be aerated is forced through an atomizing-nozzle f into a closed chamber a, immersed in a refrigerating-tank c and supplied continuously with gas from a pipe k. The aerated liquid collecting in the chamber a is further cooled either by being drawn off through a coiled pipe b, also immersed in the tank c, or by a coiled pipe placed inside the chamber a through which the refrigerating-agent is passed before being passed into the outer tank c. When liquid is supplied to the atomizing-nozzle f by a pump g, the delivery pipe h opens into a chamber i which acts as an air cushion to absorb the pulsations of the pump.
