Variable-speed and reversing gearing.-In a changespeed gear for motor-vehicles, a crown wheel or disk a is formed integral with the casing of the differential gear A and is provided with concentric rings of teeth b<1>, b<2>, b<3> adapted to be engaged by a pinion e on the driving-shaft d, which is axially movable to vary the speed. The teeth on the disk a have a spherical or oval form. For reversing, a combined bevel-wheel and pinion l, k is mounted on a countershaft ; the countershaft is moved axially so as to bring the pinion k into gear with the ring of teeth b<3> on the disk, and the pinion e is brought into gear with the wheel l.
