Abstract
17,443. Mansell, H. J. July 30. Folding boxes.-A folding box comprises a bottom e, Fig. 2, sides a, b hinged thereto and provided with flaps l, m, and ends c, d also hinged to the bottom and provided with wings f and stiffening- pieces i, k. The sides a, b and the corresponding flaps l, m are perforated to admit strings ; when these springs are drawn tight, the flaps hold the wings f close against the sides. The sides are also secured to the wings f by wire stitching &c., and the wings are creased at h. The box lid is also made to fold, and comprises sides s, Fig. 4, and ends u, diagonally creased and having overlapping triangular portions w at the corners, secured by wire stitching &c. When the box is set up, the strings are crossed over the lid, passed round the box body, and tied.
