Seats; casings; repairing, facilitating.-Taps and valves for water or steam have the valve seat formed in a separate and detachable part A of the valve casing, so that it can be readily removed for renewal or repairs. The part A screws into the inlet pipe D, and is screwed internally at the top to receive the upper casing B carrying the valve. The exterior of the part A is formed with flat faces to facilitate its removal. To renew the valve washer, the top B of the casing only is removed.
