Slipping, preventing.-The devica comprises a series of sectors 6, arranged at an angle to the plane of the wheel and carrying rubber or like treads which can be brought into contact with the road when slipping occurs. The sectors are pivoted to a disk 5 rotatable on the axle, and are secured to the wheel and guided by pins 7, 9 projecting from the wheel. The disk carries a drum 3 connected to the hub by a spring 4, and is rotated to bring the sectors into operative position by braking the drum 3.
