Abstract

14,281. Hayes, F. June 20. Spring wheels with continuous outer ring and pneumatic rubber-ring and like cushions.-A solid tread ring 5 of metal or other durable material, provided with turned-over edges 6, engages beads on a two-part tyre cover 1, the parts of which are symmetrical and engage the wheel rim by means of beads. The ring may be corrugated or provided with oblique or V- shaped ribs to prevent slipping on the road, and may be formed with projections which engage in recesses in the cover to prevent creeping. The cover is distended by an airtube or compressible springs or elements. The two parts of the cover may be connected within the tread ring by extensible means. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 23,994/03, 9400/04, and 22,045/06.
