Der Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions.-A pneumatic tyre e is surrounded by a metal hoop a of approximately semicircular crosssection, secured in position by inflation of the tyre, and further secured by cement if desired, which has a peripheral channel, preferably dovetailed and provided with one detachable side if desired, carrying a rubber tread b, which may be provided with two or more embedded wires. The inner surface of the hoop is formed with ribs c or projections to prevent it from creeping on the tyre, and the sides of the channel have tooth-like projections to prevent the wheel from skidding. The rubber tread may be in two circumferential parts, and may. be prevented from creeping in the channel by ribs thereon.
