Axles, attaching to springs; springs.- In means for obviating the torsional stress to which elliptic vehicle springs are subjected when the spring at one side of the vehicle becomes compressed more than that upon the opposite side, and in which the springs are connected to the axle so as to rock transversely, the centre portion of the spring 1 is attached to a collar 5 which is arranged to oscillate within a bracket 6 formed on the axle 2. The transverse oscillations of the spring may be limited by buffers 7 or helical springs bearing against abutments 9 on the axle.
