Gas burners; burners, mounting.-A stove burner is rotatably mounted in bearings e, Fig. 10, so as to direct the flame upwards for boiling or downwards for grilling, and may be inserted from either side of the stove so that the position of the gas inlet may be reversed; means are provided for preventing the kinking or twisting of the gas-supply pipe when the burner is rotated, and for ensuring a plentiful air supply to the burner. Withdrawal of the burner is prevented by a collar h, Fig. 1, which is secured on the burner end by a nut i and prevented from rotating by flats or a square formed on the inner end of the screw j. Stops g formed on the stove body, together with the handle f formed on the burner, limit the rotary movement of the latter. The gas-supply pipe is connected to a pipe n, Fig. 3, which is freely rotatable in the hole d<2> in the burner bridgepiece d<3>, and is held endways bv the collar n<1> and the nut p. The burner is flattened or reduced in diameter, as shown at d<1>, Fig. 10, to allow a plentiful supply of air to pass to the gas-jet holes e, from which the flames pass more directly upwards than in the case of a round burner tube.
