Abstract

27,834. Hornstein, M. Dec. 6. Stud-and-eye and hook fastenings for corsets, gaiters, &c. are arranged so that the studs or hooks are all released simultaneously. As shown in Figs. 2 and 2<a>, rotating studs A engage ordinary eyes B. The studs are connected by slotted arms c to a sliding rod C, operated by a handle E through a toggle joint D to release the studs, the rod being kept in its fastening position by a spring F. Instead of a toggle, a slotted eccentric may be used, as shown in Fig. 5. The studs A have inclines h, Fig. 6<a> ; instead of eyes and studs, hooks A<1> may embrace studs B', Fig. 3. The toggle D and eccentric may be operated by a cord or ribbon.
