13,828. Wolffenstein, R. June 16. Barium carbonate and percarbonate ; hydrogen peroxide.-In the manufacture of hydrogen peroxide by the action of carbonic acid or barium peroxide dissolved in water, the solution is kept alkaline at the commencement of the process by dissolving an excess of barium peroxide in water and passing in carbonic acid ; it is stated that barium percarbonate (and perhaps the bi-percarbonate) is thereby formed and is subsequently decomposed by the action of more carbonic acid.
