Valves controlled from a distance.- A weighted diaphragm 13, piston, bell, or the like, on a temporary increase of pressure, operates the gas valve 8 by means of a pivoted pawl 19 on a sliding stem 14 engaging ratchet teeth 18 on a cam-wheel 17 which acts on a roller 28 on the valve spindle 10. A spring stop 25 carried by a weighted disk 11 on the spindle 10 closes the end of the pilot-jet 5 when the valve is opened. The valve chamber is closed at the lower end by a diaphragm 20, and the disk is prevented from rotating by a screw 26 engaging a slot therein.
