Moulding bricks &c.-Clay in an extrusion press, before being delivered to'the die, is caused to pass between a series of pairs of rollers, such as c, d, e, the spaces between the pairs gradually increasing towards the die. The rollers therefore decrease in diameter as shown, or their axes may be set back from the clay stream. Plates r prevent the clay from passing between the rollers away from the stream, and lubricating means may be provided in the ends of the side guide-plates p. The rollers are driven by suitable means at rates varying with the rate of feed between the various pairs.
