7267. Herbert, A., and Vernon, P. V. March 26. Locking nuts.-Relates to devices for allowing rotary adjustment of the two parts of plungers for operating band friction clutches in motor-cars, machine tools, &c., such as are described in Specification No. 6123, A.D. 1904, [Abridgment Class Mechanism &c.], and for locking them in position after adjustment. A fixed part a carries a sliding spring-pressed clutch c adapted to engage a fixed clutch d on the part b screwed on the part a. A screwdriver or other tool inserted in a slot g in the part b bears on a rod and disengages the clutch c, so that the part b may be rotated by the screwdriver.
