Abstract
1848. Steinicke, G. Jan. 24. Incandescent gas lamps; globes; globe holders.- In a lamp having a bent mixing-tube, the globe 4, Fig. 1, has a lateral aperture, and the detachable part 9 of the mixing- tube fits in a socket 7 fixed to the inclined flange 6 of a preferably perforated globe-holder 5 having an air inlet at its lower part and engaging the upwardly-directed mixing-chamber 8. In a modification, a socket 20, Fig. 2, connects the two parts 19, 21 of the mixing-tube, and the part 19 is detachably connected by a screw 18 to the gas pipe. The aperture may be formed in the bottom of the globe, and the mixing-tube 27 is then shaped as shown in Fig. 3.
