Incandescent gas lamps.-In a modification of the incandescent lamp described in Specification No. 15, A.D. 1904, the secondary air supply is dispensed with, and the mixed gases descending the tube 13, Fig. 1, within the expansion chamber 14 are deflected upwards by a concave piece 17 or by the concave base of the expansion chamber, a perforated piece 18 and gauzes or perforated disks 20 being sometimes placed in the path of the mixed gases. In the application to a single inverted burner, the mixing-tube 13, Fig. 3, projects into an enlarged chamber 14 having a curved top, and terminates in a cup-shaped piece 16, from which the gaseous mixture escapes through an annular passage or perforations 18 to the contracted burner mouth. Gauzes 20 may be arranged in the chamber, and the tube 13 may have additional air inlets. According to the Provisional Specification, a hood may be arranged above the expansion chamber.
