Incandescent gas lamps.-An inverted burner, preferably of the type described in Specification No. 10,570, A.D. 1905, which may be fixed, without the use of any special adapter and in such a manner that the products of combustion pass clear of the bracket, either to an upturned or to a downturned bracket or fitting, is formed in two parts A, A', which are secured together by screwing, Fig. 5, by a screw-threaded sleeve 0, Fig. 3, or by a bayonetjoint G<1>, Fig. 2, or its equivalent, so that the part A<1> may be turned relatively to the part A, as indicated by the dotted lines in Fig. 3. The burner may either pass through the side E of a gallery, such as the spring-clip gallery D, Fig. 2, described in the prior Specification, or through the central opening of the gallery, Fig. 3. When the burner passes through the side of the gallery, the latter is secured against a flange C on the former by screws C', Fig. 2, by a nut G, Fig. 5, or by a nut G<2>, and a set-screw S', Fig. 9. The mixing-tube with its air-regulating sleeve L may be secured to the gas nipple K by a set-screw M, and the gas supply may be regulated by a screw in the manner described in Specification No. 15,729, A.D. 1903. In a modification, the part A<1> of the burner tube is made straight and is attached to either an upright or an inverted bracket by an L-shaped extension of the nipple K.
