19,245. Broadfoot & Sons, J., and Appleby, J. R. Sept. 23. Bulkhead doors. -In a sliding sash, a metal plate may be used instead of glass and adapted as a bulkhead door. The counterbalanced s l i d i n g sashes A are secured against rubber or like beadings C<2>, so as to make weathertight joints, by side wedging - bars D operated by slotted cranks D<3> and a handle E<2> or worm gearing G, lower cams E<3> bearing against the bottom rails of the sashes, and inclined wedging - surfaces o f upper rails and frames. The sash may be provided with lifting-rings F<2> and a perforated strap F<3> engaging with a stud F<5> on the cross-shaft E. In case of breakage of the glass A', a dead-light may be inserted.
