The end 2 of the weight is supported in a clip 3 attached to the hull of the vessel, and the other end is detachably supported by a releasing-gear consisting of a screwed spindle, and a nut fitted in a recess 5<1>. In a modified construction of releasing-gear, the end 5 of the weight is supported in a hinged clip. The weight may be provided with a recess for housing a buoy 16, so that the position of weight when released is indicated.
