9916. Gosling, F. H., and Taylor, E. May 11. Yarns, warping &c.-In a machine for winding yarns from warps, sections, beams, bobbins, or other sources, the receiving-bobbins are mounted, as shown, on inclined frames b in order to economize space. The threads pass between adjustable tension rollers v, and are seoarated by a " splitting- "device " u. The split- " ting-device " shown in Fig. 2 would he used with a winding-frame having six rows of spindles, the warps being divided into six vertical sections of twenty ends each. A gangway is provided across the machine to allow easy access to each bobbin. The traverse bar g is reciprocated by levers l, one of which is operated by a chain n attached to a bar o oscillated by a heart-cam p. The tin roller is preferably arranged with its axis in the plane of the wharls, and one or more spindles may be driven by each band. The Provisional Specification also states that the spindles may be vertical instead of perpendicular to the inclined frame.
