Tension arrangements. - Twisted or doubled threads are tensioned in doubling, winding and cross-winding machines by means of fabric h, which is clamped upon a hollow suction bar by means of nozzles k which draw off dust, fibres, &c. Rims l, m guide the yarn, and a, recess i' is provided to prevent the thread from engaging between the nozzle and the fabric. The recess is disposed on that side of the nozzle towards which the thread tends to run, the tendency being for thread with a right-hand twist to run towards the left of the roller, and vice versa.
