Abstract

11,047. Moore, A. H., and Naylor, A. W. May 10. Spinning and twisting machines; winding- machines; twist tubes.-A doubled yarn is produced from a slubbing of low-quality material, such as fibres obtained from woollen rags and shoddy, and a previously spun cotton, worsted, or like thread, in a machine which draws and twists the slubbing and then doubles it with the previously spun thread. The slubbing is drawn from a cheese, mounted on a driven roller 22, by rollers 27, 28, and passes through the hollow neck 60 of a twisting-frame 51 over a guide 63, where it is joined by a spun thread drawn from a tube or bobbin mounted in the frame, and thence, with the thread through the lower neck of the frame and drawing-rollers 30, 31, to a bobbin 39, driven by a drum upon which it is wound by a guide 37 oscillated by a cam or eccentric.
