Abstract
1972. Mercer, T. T., and Cherry Tree Machine Co, Feb. 1. - Mangling and wringing machines.-In order that clothes passing through a mangling or like machine may be finally deposited in front, rollers d, e, and guides g, h, are arranged at the back of the machine so as to guide the clothes over the top roller, where they may fall on a ledge or table at the front of the machine shown in Fig. 1. The roller d is rotated frictionally from the roller c, which is in contact with the lower mangle roller. The roller e may be idle as shown, or it may be rotated similarly from the roller d, the clothes being protected from it by a board. Another roller may be used, as shown in dotted lines. The supplementary rollers are preferably mounted in bearings in, or in connexion with, the frame. They may be driven by toothed or belt gearing from the driving-mechanism of the machine. A bar or rail may replace the ledge or table shown, according to the Provisional Specification.
