Abstract

190,441. Automatic Telephone Manufacturing Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Obergfell, H. F.). Dec. 19, 1921, [Convention date]. Telephone instruments, supporting.-The microphone transmitter is supported in a case 2 which is jointed to a bracket 1 by a hinged joint located within the case. The bracket 1 is fixed to the door of a wall instrument by screws. A hollow post 6 is screwed or riveted to the bracket 1 or may be cast integrally therewith. The case 2 is provided with a rectangular opening which passes easily over the post 6. Lugs, 7, 8 on either side of this opening are riveted to the case, and a bolt 11 passes through holes in these lugs and in the bifurcated ends of the post 6. The bolt may be inserted by means of a slot in the end of the post 6. The concave inner surface 10 of the bracket 1 and the outer surface of the case 2 have a spherical contour, the centre of the sphere being on the intersection of the centre of the bolt 11 and the centre of the post 6. The case 2 may be moved up and down on the bolt 11 the limiting positions being determined by the size of the opening. The invention may also be applied to a desk telephone.
