27,745. Wernitz, J. Dec. 19. Stoppers.-The stopper of cork or india-rubber is carried by a spiral spring c pivoted at b to a clip a secured around the neck of the bottle. The end of the spring to be attached to the stopper terminates in a corkecrew f, Fig. 5, passed through an opening in a flanged boss n, which projects through a central hole in a metal cap k, covering the stopper. The stopper may be removed from the bottle by a handle m, attached to the boss n, and may be turned aside while the contents are poured from the bottle. To close the bottle, the cork is returned directly above the mouth of the bottle, upon which it is pressed by the spring.
