The pipe is guided in a spider g and is pressed upwards by a spring n as soon as a lid u is removed. The pipe is provided with stops k, m and with a rose p. A piece of wire gauze s, placed across the outlet, prevents flame passing into the can. The upper part c of the outlet is screwed on to the lower part d and is retained by a soft metal capsule e which is readily damaged. In a modification, the rose p forms the top of the lid u and the outlet is made of spun metal and is retained by a soft metal capsule.
