16,415. Raky, A. July 25. Shafts ; deep-boring.-Relates to a joint for two lengths of tubbing of different diameters in sinking shafts by freezing processes. Tubbing a is used to line a shaft sunk by the aid of freezing-tubes b, the shaft being deepened and lined with smaller tubbing c. To prevent water from entering from below, the bottom part of the tubbing c is filled with concrete d. A ring e provided with flanges e', e<2> is used to join the tubbing rings a, c. Apertures f formed in the ring e serve to receive freezing-tubes for the lower part of the shaft, and are provided with pipes g which are carried to a sufficient height in the shaft.
